Born in Istanbul in 1998, Eren Sezer is an architect, researcher, and technologist who treats the built environment as a framework for exploring the future of design. He works at the intersection of “intuitive technocracy” and traditional craftsmanship, searching for ways to detect and rationalize the inherent “quality without a name” that Christopher Alexander identified in spaces.

He holds a Master’s degree in Building Architecture from Politecnico di Milano, and has spent the years since pushing advanced technology further into the architect’s design process. After his studies he collaborated with MIT Senseable City Lab director Carlo Ratti, first as an architect and later as Project Manager at Maestro Technologies within the Carlo Ratti Group, leading a team rethinking how buildings are designed and built.

In May 2026 he co-founded Nexus Systems, a Turin-based company that designs and engineers prefabricated buildings in glulam and cross-laminated timber, treating the building as a manufactured system in which structure, envelope, and assembly are resolved together rather than in sequence.

Eren’s work has been recognized in:

Global Climate Action: in 2025 he was selected as a representative architect for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the UN Climate Change Summit (COP30), as part of the Carlo Ratti Group’s Aquapraca project.

International Exhibitions: as co-founder of the architectural collective Cumba (est. 2023), Eren and the team took Istanbul: A Way Out to the STRAND International Architecture Exhibition and the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.
